I am writing my new book...Identical ID. Based on events which are very controversial. It has been said that if Canary Island..La Palma's Cumbre Vieja Volcano could erupt and cause a mega Tsunami which could take out the eastern seaboard of the USA and smaller Islands in the Caribbean, part of Canada, what they don't say is also; UK, Spain,Gibralter, Africa's west coast and much more.
The research for this book has bee a heck of a journey so far. What do we believe? Human nature says to always believe what the crowd think will happen, as an individual unit a human is a highly intelligent unit but as a crowd we are very sheep like. If one persons begins to scream and run...everyone follows.
If a mega tsunami was to happen, the results are catastrophic. But who is telling the truth? Government scientists say it wont happen, its never happened because they are so rare...rare means it has happened!! Which it has, Krakatoa erupted in the 1800's causing a tsunami which wiped out 160 villages in Indonesia, 30,000 people died, so how can they say they don't happen. I do believe there is propaganda, I do believe it has been blown out of proportions but I don't disbelieve it could happen.
Identical ID is so much different to what I normally write. It is a thriller and action. Following the struggle of a couple who are hiding the death of their parents. Jackie and Robert Lovett were both Geologists who were investigating the stability of the Cumbre Vieja Volcano. A car accident was believed to have been their cause of death until Kieran Lovett begins to investigate the death of his Father and Step-mother further. Tia Malone and step brother Kieran Lovett are in turmoil.
Investigating the deaths further opens up serious implication.
La Palma introduced a law for residents safety, one child per couple, Tia gave birth to identical twins and hiding their boys has been a struggle.
Conspiracy, murder, deception is just the beginning!
The power of mother nature is awesome, we cannot control it, we can not beat it, but I am going to use it to write some books which will not only entertain but will give an insight to what could happen and give valuable information about what happens and why. What better way to gain information than a really good story you can learn from?
I do hope my next books will excite, enthrall and inform my readers and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have writing them, its been hours of research, hours of writing and very little sleep but I hope you enjoy them as much as me.
Release Date for Identical ID

Friday was my hubby's birthday, 40 years old...told him its all down hill from there. We had a lovely meal and drinks afterwards. Saturday (feeling a little unwell) we went to a hog roast in aid of charity. I have offered to sing at the next one to help and that I can help out with the organizing, its great to do something unselfish, it makes you feel accomplished and that you have done something to help and give, even if its only time. Sunday we did very little, went out for a nice meal Sunday night. Monday we took the in laws to Benidorm which in 8 years of living here, was a place they hadn't visited. It was a great day.
Yesterday I began my new book Identical ID. The story originates from a friend of mine, Sara Jordan, she, like me, has a very odd imagination lol. The story is based on a theory that could happen. One of the Canary Islands, La Palma, is a volcanic isle which is still active and volatile.
It has been said that if this Island has a violent eruption, the island would suffer a slide depositing land into the ocean causing a mega tsunami which would wipe out the eastern seaboard of the USA.
There are arguments saying that it cannot happen but, I have am writing a thriller/action/suspense that is about just that.
Identical ID; A tragic accident turns out to be more than it appears to be. Tia and Kieran, children of two geologists were left alone to fend for themselves. La Palma had brought in a new law, 'one child per family' to ensure that f disaster should strike, they can safely remove the tourists and residents. Tia and Kieran find they are having twins and have to figure a way to raise both the boys without authorities discovering the truth. And they do. Government cover up, murder and more sinister actions are uncovered. Who is telling the truth? Will the Island collapse or is it all propaganda? If its scaremongering, why limit visitors and children? Is it a cover up, conspiracy? Someone is about to find out.
I have added *asterisks so that the reader can google information, this way you can figure out yourself whether or not it is possible for a disaster like this is possible. The release date will be soon, I am looking hopefully within the next two weeks.
The Art of Magic Realm of the Castles is selling and soon it should encourage the sales of Realm of the Northern Castle. Reviews have been superb and all five star.
My poor editor Gill is inundated with my books at the moment, just to tweak them as I wrote both the first books blind. Some grammatical errors are now being ironed out. I am only human, I didn't have my editor at that point but now I worship her!!
I will be promoting a competition for my new book withing the next couple of weeks. So do keep an eye on my website and of course here on my blog. I will be giving away a couple of signed copies of Identical ID.
How many people actually dream of becoming a writer? More than we realize I should think. I often receive questions, asked advice and I do my best to help.
I have been asked what advice would I give to any aspiring writer, and this is my answer;
Never give up, a masterpiece is a long time in the making. Never give up, never let anyone tell you that you can't. Think of your story line and then run with it. But, make sure you investigate all channels before publishing. Your cover is more important than you think.

OOOH the outlaws are coming!!!
I have the outlaws coming tomorrow (In laws that are wanted) for my hubby Marks 40th birthday. I have nuked the house so there isn't even spider poo anywhere to be seen!!!...not quite sure about the places that I can't see though!!! I have the greatest honor of pooper scooping in a bit...mmmm nice not really looking forwards to that!
I am wondering why on earth I have to have the most spoil, bad tempered, sulky divas as cats. They cant get their own way they make me pay. They will sit and glare at me, bite me, scratch me and destroy my things, since when have cats been like that? I think Spanish cats must be different. I even caught my older kitten piddling in my underwear draw and you could see the pure enjoyment on her face as if to say 'ha, that will teach you.' They are sleeping right now, thank goodness, its worse than a house full of children.
Well our itinerary for tomorrow is to go for lunch, then for dinner and then meet everyone and go for a drink, sooo next two days I wont have chance to write a blog, Sundays should be a riot! We are going to a hog roast on Saturday, my friend asked me if I had bought Mark a pig for his birthday lol...er no!! It did make me chuckle.
I am going to settle down to do some writing later this evening see if I can get upto 5000 word, I can do it...will do it...I am....well gonna give it good try anyhow.
I never realized how hard writing the third book would be. It has taken a while to get the first paragraph right but now I have its getting there and I am hoping to have it published by the latest the end of March with any luck, before if I can.
I have decided that I am going to expand the series too and branch out around the world that I have created, this way I can still mention characters that are known to my readers. I am looking forward to finishing number three.
I have been asked to ghost write a story for a lady, its a true life story about how she was ripped off for hundreds of thousand of UK pounds and when she started to dig, she realizes how deep this is. It contains murder, fraud, deception, prostitution, abuse, domestic violence and much more, I will be beginning this book over the next coming months. It will be called Catch me if you Con, please do look out for this one, it is a warning and shows exactly what can happen. I will keep you updated on this.
I am also writing a children's fantasy series called The Diamond Realm Series and a non fiction book about Serial Killers. I will give you all the information as I go. I am also working on a series which is so far secret until I publish the first one, its a good idea and I don't want people to copy me.
Well I am going to get back to writing....iminent doooooom...no I love it really.
Oooh, before I go, I should soon have my online bookstore launching, The Little BIG Book Store and my new Author Promotional Products site Design for Life too so I will add links when they are ready.
More to say on Sunday and lots to update.
Thanks for reading

Okay so I became a writer, always wanted to do it but never knew how. I wrote my book, I wrote blind and didn't know what I was doing. My first book The Art of Magic Realm of the Castles took two weeks to create but another three years to re edit and pluck up the courage to actually publish.
I guess I was encouraged but it still, it took a lot for me to publish it. I had no idea what to do but I did use my head to find out how.
A lot of companies charge stupid amounts of money for something you can do without cash outlay. I began with Lulu and they were okay and this is how I found other places like Smashwords, KDP, Createspace and Draft2Digital. This is the easy part, publish your book and wow so cool but now you have to sell it!!
Promoting a book is so difficult. The market is so swamped now with books from all genres that its difficult to really make your book stand out enough to grab peoples attention.
So, how do we do that....book cover! This is a big and very underestimated selling point. You have to have a very eye catching cover. However, there are many covers out there too. It has to be real outstanding.
That is not all, its okay spamming books everyday on social networking sites but personally I get so sick of seeing them and because of this I wouldn't even consider looking at them because I am so sick of seeing the same thing. They mustn't be selling well or why else would they turn to spam instead of steady promoting once or twice a week. Don't over-face possible readers, they will ignore you.
A steady promotion schedule is required. There are many reader groups on facebook which allow advertising, join them and maybe pick two per day to advertise once, figure out when it seems to gain more traffic, what time of day, don't put on there "BUY MY BOOK ITS GREAT!!!" Put your link and a little teaser about the book or something catchy...which worked for me. The one I received the most interest was this: Do you love Lord of the Rings? Harry Potter? Well my book is nothing like them but it is a fantasy about..., this created many likes from people I don't know, gained curiosity and people commented on how it made them giggle. This is good feedback but it does not make them sell, interacting with the comment and get to know the people who took interest. Have them like your page, invite them to become friends on your profile, this endears readers to you because you show a genuine interest in them. This will help grow a fanbase.
Twitter, Google+, Linked in are all great for promotion but you also have to interact with people and not just spam, spam is bad okay!
Join reader forums, genre forums, again, do not spam as people will flag you and have no interest in what you have to say. Interaction is of paramount importance.
Goodreads and Librarything, Shelfari etc, become a site author via the author program. I joined Goodreads and it took two months of having one or two friends and four months later I have 6 fans and 455 friends.
Do not expect to be an overnight hit, it rarely happens, be gentle but persuasive, offer the odd free book for people providing they give you a review. Never ever pay for a review, it is frowned upon, you want genuine reviews from readers who do or don't enjoy your book.
Don't expect everyone to love your book, tastes vary and you will get people say 'oh it was crap, grammar was awful', your only human, even professionals get it wrong, no book is perfect. Some of the most popular commercially published books on the market have mistakes. Fifty Shades is a huge seller from an Independent/Self Published author which is a grammatical bomb, terrible, but people overlooked that because the story is what they enjoyed.
Marketing and promotion is expensive, use everything you can find for free promotion, use social networking with respect, interact with prospective readers, give people something they want. Take criticism, take it on the chin and learn from it, some you can ignore but others will really help.
Get yourself a proof reader, a friend, someone who enjoys your book...a fan, they will appreciate it and also tell others what they are doing for you, this is a big hit with readers...an author who will listen to them.
Word of mouth by your readers is the biggest author tool in the world, let them help, let them encourage others to read your book.
Utilize local papers and other media platforms, contact your local paper they love local stories that bring readers to their papers, local radio, anything you can. Talk to local bookstores, offer signings but build some real hype before it and get all your friend to come in with a copy of your book, others will see them all and join the queue, buy your book so you will sign it, so many people (your friends) waiting so this person must be good... sheep syndrome...whats happening there let's go find out, humans are a naturally curious creature by nature and hate to miss anything.
Use the biggest tool you have, YOU!
I watched a warning I found very helpful, Facebook Fan pages, yes great tool but will take time to build a genuine following, I have had my Author Page now for 3 months and have 460 likes, yet when I look at a post it tells me its only reached 47 or 80 people, why? People just press like for the the sake of it. Genuine people will watch your posts and interact too. Paid likes, advertising platform on facebook.....hmmmm no! You will suddenly have thousands of likes but when you look at the geography of these likes they are in places you have never heard of or places which wouldn't have interest, be patient, these likes swamp your page and you will get much less interaction. Be careful, take your time and allow people who do like your work 'like' your page. Offer giveaways, competitions with your books as the prize, anything to gain interest, dont grab the bit and allow your horse to run away, this is not a race.
I read another authors post the other day and like he said, he now makes $5000+ per month on book sales, he has many books, but it took over a year for his first book to sell, it was word of mouth, not spam and adverts.
Keep writing, an author isn't found with just one book, you need multiple books to give you a better chance. Don't give up, never give up, there are fans out there that will love your work and be loyal.
Your book, I know I have grammatical mistakes, it was my first book, I flew solo, I had no clue what I was doing. I have had to revise it, when I read it I knew what it said so overlooked all problems, but others don't, ensure proof reading. It is important.
If you are unsure of what you are doing, join groups like mine on facebook; Self Pub Help & Marketing, we are all authors, even commercials on there as we really help each other, no arguments but we discuss what works and doesn't, which web tools work, we share each others pages, websites etc, its very informative.
Besides social media we have other tools like Blogs, websites, one of the best website builders I have found is webs.com you have ten pages to play with, grow your traffic whilst you have it for free and take it further by buying a domain and pay for it once you gain interest.
I really hope that this has helped in some way, I help other authors, I am no expert but will do what ever I can to help people like myself. Join groups which give good advice and ask, no question is stupid, if you don't know the answer, one of us will or will find out for you or give you the tools to find out yourself. Never sit in the dark and be ripped off for money that is not worth spending.
Be aware that there are scammers in this world just the same as everything else. There is huge competition, massive, so you have to be smart. There is 'Author bitching', steer clear of it and interact with people who enjoy interacting with you, don't listen to 'bitching', there is a war between Independent and Commercial Authors at the moment but now many commercials are moving into the Independent Market because we control our books completely, others are becoming commercial because many love their books and Publishing houses have approached them because of it.
Write, enjoy and be sensible.
Well for me that was deep but hopefully informative and I really hope that has helped people in some way. Respect your readers, they are who will make your name for you, be good to them and show them your a person, don't snub them because your an author...your not...your a human who has become an author.
Never snub your fans because they will ruin you as soon as like you!
Okay enough rambling from me, below are the links to my books if you would like to take a look.
I would appreciate it, and do comment on the bottom of this post because I love feedback.
Join me on facebook Author Sharon Wheater, page and profile, would be nice to chat.
Please share this blog, people may appreciate the help.

I have started a new series, The Diamond series, now up to page 17 and even though it doesnt sound a lot, its still 3500 words. Not bad for a new book with new characters, new settings, new book ! I love to create characters, give them a life, name and destiny, a great job for a control freak this writing life.
I am taking a step back from the restaurant in a couple of days time, leaving it in the capable hands of my hubby and business partner, this way I can concentrate completely on writing books for a living. I am so excited at this prospect. Not many have the chance to do this but I have so I am going to grab it with both hands and run with it.
Had a lovelly review today about Realm of the Castles, I am most pleased. I also managed to finally get Realm of the Castles accepted on Smashwords, I am stoked at this. It has already started selling to which is absolutely wonderful.
I have been reviewing book chapters for the past two days and managed to review 6... as well as write, go to work, housework, format for Smashwords and a few other things...a bit busy so to speak but I love it.
My cat Luna has come into season and kept me awake half the night last night...I have never heard such a racket!! I feel for her and she is being spade but...darn girl!!!!

Okay 6 days of flu and tonsilitis gone at last!!! Spent the day cleaning my home ready for spring and to be able to relax and concentrate on my writing. Still trying to upload my book onto Smashwords, thats been murder!! lol.
If you havent bought my first book yet...you dont know what your missing. I love fantasy and I love to write it, my first book is teh start of a great series, so far I have had some good reviews so give it a try.
Not much to report today but thought i would give the good news that i am feeling better...wel good news to me anyhow lol.
Here is a snippet of Realm of the Castles;
My name is Serenity and it is about the only thing I am certain of. Darkness dominates my life but it was not always like this. It’s cold and damp in my cell and what for others is a nightmare is reality for me. Torture, fear, pain, that is normal everyday life here. I was ten years old when I was captured but I thought imprisonment was for criminals but I am not a criminal. I was a young child when I was abducted so how could I be? What crime could a ten year old child perform that would warrant such a sentence of hell?
My captors are the criminals. No child should be subjected to what we have to endure. The sound of the cell door opening brings upon the feeling of doom for me and the other children being held here. The acrid stench of death surrounds us it’s a smell no child should be able to identify with. The guards have their own stench, a musky odour and I hate it, it makes me sick especially when they are too close!
As I said, life was not always like this I lived on a beautiful lush green island in the southwest part of the Emerald Ocean called Shell Bay. Tropical white sandy beaches and palm trees surround our island.
Shell Bay is a peaceful place with people who like us who farmed, fished or hunted. I spent most of my time on the beach when I was not learning or helping my father on the farm.
I lived in a modest house my family were not poor. That maybe why I have been abducted, until my parents had paid a high ransom but I cant understand why I have not yet been returned? Maybe my parents do not want me back.
I try to remember our house; we had a lovely cosy sitting room with a powder blue sofa and chairs. My father had rows of books on shelves around the room; he really loved to read. The open fire was so homely; I always like to watch the flames dancing in the fireplace. After staring into the fire for a while, I often thought I could see things: people, animals, and other lands, my imagination had always been great until now.
My bedroom was on the second floor. I had lilac drapes and bed covers, stuffed toys, dolls, carved wooden animals and books. I had everything a child could want.
Every mealtime we would sit at the table and listen to stories regaled by my father; he would tell us of how the Southern King protected us from the Northern King and the evil that hailed from within his vast territory.
My favourite story was the legend of the Sorcerers and their mystical Keep that used to stand within the North; and how it was reduced to rubble when the previous good northern king died. He told us how King Illumini, the new King had murdered his own father and had taken his throne. The North was never the same place, King Illuminis’ father had been a good man and loved his people, and his son however was not. He was evil; he turned a once prosperous land into one of sadness, death and slavery.
The six sorcerers were the most powerful people in our world; they controlled the balance of good and dark magic. However, they mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Before their disappearance: they were people of great importance and sought out by magicians and non-magicians alike for their unbound knowledge. No one knows what happened to them; they just seemed to have vanished without a trace. A lot of speculation surrounded the new Northern King, rumours of murder, torture and destruction. The Keep is now just a ruin and only wild stories remain about the fate of the sorcerers.
Our happy simple existence was never even compromised by the cold season, it lasted for five months, we were lucky that we never saw snowfall. A few smaller islands surrounded us and they also were home to good people like us totally different to the mainland which was vast, I never visited the mainland even though I used to dream of doing so.
The south of the mainland houses the southern castle and its lush green lands. There are villages dotted around and people lived in harmony with each other. A mountain range that is known to be dangerous to cross because of the terrain separates the North and South of the mainland.
Another of my fathers’ stories told of a clan of men who lived within the harsh mountains. No one knows who they are, where they came from or why they are there. People love to create stories about these men, and womenfolk tend to cling to the air of romance surrounding the tales.
What I miss the most is my horse Blaze she was my best friend, we had several horses, but Blaze was my own. The other horses were workhorses for ploughing the fields and taking the wagon to market so we could sell our wares.
I used to spend hours riding bareback around the fields, chasing my two older brothers and pretending we were soldiers. Rarely a day past when I didn’t play the hero soldier and my brothers the bandits. I would wield my wooden sword, slashing and imagining being the greatest warrior in the lands. I became very proficient in swordplay thanks to my brothers.
I miss the dense palm forest where I would climb the trees and await the arrival of my brothers, they would be searching for me after I had given them a good thrashing with my sword. I would wait until they were below the tree I had climbed and I would drop a coconut on their heads.
I long for my home as does everyone else held captive here in this miserable place. Happy memories burn in my heart, but memories are all I have now. My carefree innocence has been snatched from me, I will never get that back. All I have now is the slither of hope that one day I will be rescued and taken away from this dreadful prison.

I am so pleased with the amount of people who have looked at the website. It really makes it all worth it in the end. I still have flu, feel rotton but that will never stop me working. I cannot let anything get me down too much.
I have sold at least one book today which is awesome, Now i really have to push my marketing skills. I have done marketing for a long time but doing it for a book is soooo much different. I guess you just have to look at it as a single unit and push it. Now I have both books...its double trouble!!
I have 219 likes on my facebook author page now and that is great, i just need more....more more more....greedy huh!! lol
I have begun the tedious document sorting for smawords so my book will soon be on there, so am happy about that, what a pain though!!
I am going to start my non fiction book today, see how it pans out. It will certainly be different to my fiction ones.

Well I guess it has to be done to go forwards with the times and do what everyone else does... whats good for the goose so to speak.
The Art of Magic Realm of the Northern Castle is now on general release, its taken a year to write inbetween work, so its not been easy. Now, I have decided to retire and just completely concentrate on writing and nothing else.
Just had a lovely ten days break up at my inlaws, lazed around and went out for dinner, shame it wasnt hot enough to get in their pool or i would never have gotten out of it, I would have come back looking like a prune.
The weather is warm right now but I cannot enjoy it as I have the flu...just great, if i sniff much more my eyes are going to cave in!! I hate being ill but i suppose even us super humans cant escape the odd bug....well, not exactly super...more sub human in my case I think!!!
I am just starting the third of The Art of Magic series, Beyond Garnatia, I have been trying to plot the story and have a basic outline but it will be completely different to what i origonally planned. I dont think anything actually does go to plan really.
My new series will be very soon released, not a fantasy one either, something completely different but its all a secret as yet so keep your eyes on the site for further details. And my Non Fiction book about serial killers is in the making as we speak so thats another to watch for.
I wrote a book, many years ago in my early twenties it was 900 pages typed on a real typewriter, you know the ones, the ones that you really had to press in. I was about to send it for publishing but I had a terrible first husband that burnt it on the coal fire... I wanted to burn more than paper where he was concerned. However, it took a long time ufor me to write again, not until i left the armed forces but now I have done. I remember the whole story that the ex creep destroyed and later this year it will be restarted, I have to publish that book!
I have been reading Jilly Coopers Riders again recently, I love her, she is hilarious. I am on a mission to colloect all her books which is difficult in spain unless I buy them on Kindle. I also love Maria V Snyder, she is a wonderful writer, easy ready and easy to follow books hat I enjoy immensly. I have a few sat in the cupboard I have yet read but I am determined this year to read at least four books.
I will be reviewing books on here that I do help will help with the sales of books for fellow authors, I do hope that you guys will review for me too. I shall be writing daily or at least every other day so come back soon.
